People not paying for things on Ebay…so annoying. If you’ve won the auction, pay for it!
I’ve been awake for the best part of 24 hours. I don’t think i’ll count the intermittent eye closing between 5.30 and 6.30 as sleep. Reason? The usual. Last minute dash to stitch together a new merch run for tour. Sorting out tour production at the last minute.
I’ll upload the shirts we’ll be…
Today was so stressful at work. Half the staff are off sick and the other half were at meetings. The phone would not stop ringing. I was saying “Good afternoon, Charline speaking” and it was only 10.30 in the morning. It was one of those mornings. Plus, I’m covering another office, so have double the work.
At least it’s pay day tomorrow.
So, REM have split up. The one and only time I’ve ever cried at a gig, was for REM Everybody Hurts.
True story!
I will be in Leeds at Kids In Glass Houses. Just booked my hotel and my ticket came today.
And Kids In Glass Houses are on the cover of Kerrang. Today was a good day.
I can remember that day so clearly.
I was 16 and had just started college, doing media and communication. A journalism student came in to our lesson to tell our tutor that a plane had crashed into the world trade centre. I just assumed he meant a small plane or private jet. The tutor said we could have a break while he went to investigate.
By the time we came back a second plane had hit, and you knew it couldn’t be an accident. Our course and the first and second year journalists all huddled into a room to watch the horror unfold on tv. We were told that we could go home if we wanted as we wouldn’t be doing anymore work that day. But all of us stayed and watched in silence.
I remember the first tower falling. I remember that I was wearing a new york t-shirt that day. It was weird watching the events unfold in real time. You could watch it 24/7 on the news channels if you wanted. The first time in history you could say that. And it definitely felt like the world changed that day.
